Storage & Backup, A Hidden Priority

At the core of all IT operations, data backups have always been somewhat of a “hidden” priority -- not given the full scope of attention that it is needed. It only reveals itself when company data has been compromised, lost due to disaster, or accidentally misplaced. The priority then becomes enormously real and, unfortunately, places some IT departments into an endless cycle of recovery -- spending countless hours, days trying to restore critical business needs. Backups have always been looked at as the “back burner” of an IT operation -- last in line and given a lower priority to other day-to-day tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
