(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Rooster Teeth hosted its annual RTX convention last weekend in Austin, TX, centered on gaming and Internet topics.
More than 30,000 fans and gamers from around the world gathered at Austin’s Convention Center to test out popular video games and attend numerous discussion panels on everything from the art of pod casting to the evolution of video games to tips on editing for beginners.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet multiple Internet celebrities, actors, singers, and executives such as Adam Kovic, Adriene Mishler, Beth Broderick, Eric Neustandter of Microsoft, Edwin Neal, Freddie Wong, and many more.
Some of the notable exhibitors of the event included 343 Industries, Twitch, Mega Bloks, Joust, Ontagion, and Game Over Videogames.
This year’s event was was a record breaker for Rooster Teeth, making it a rival against South By Southwest Interactive who had 32,000 registered attendees this year, BizJournal reports.
When RTX first began in 2011, there was only 500 visitors, that number rose to 4,000 in 2012 and to 10,000 in 2013, followed by a record breaking number of 30,000 in 2014.
There are 1.5 million registered members on Rooster Teeth’s website and more than 7.5 million subrivers on YouTube.
