After Cricket, Is Boost Next to Offer Prepaid iPhones?

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Prepaid wireless options for the iPhone 4 and 4s will become available through Boost Mobile in September, according to a report from Technobuffalo.com which cited a “trusted source.”

Although little else was detailed, prepaid options for the iPhone allows users to use the popular device from Apple without signing onto a contract.

The possible availability from Boost shortly follows a similar move from Leap Wireless subsidiary Cricket Communications made last Thursday. Specifically, Cricket is offering prepaid unlimited iPhone data plans for only $55 dollars per month. However, the actual purchase of the iPhone device is relatively higher than provided for through contract wireless providers including Verizon and AT&T (For example, the 16 GB 4S is $199.99 from Verizon and $499.99 from Cricket).

Boost Mobile currently offers a line of smartphone devices from mobile creators including LG, HTC, Samsung and Blackberry.

Apple’s last iPhone, the 4s, was launched last October. It was notable for introducing the Apple AI service known as Siri. Meanwhile, rumors indicate that the iPhone 5 could feature a larger screen size.
