Amazon Web Services Expands West

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Popular cloud hosting platform Amazon Web Services recently announced it had added a new region.

Referred to as US West (Oregon), the addition will support various popular AWS services including Elastic Compute Cloud, CloudWatch, Simple Queue Service and more.

Discussing the new addition on their blog, Amazon Web Services stated, “This one is located in the Pacific Northwest area of the United States, in the beautiful state of Oregon, and offers low-cost, low-latency access to our services from the Western portion of the US.”

“We’re always trying to provide you with services at the lowest possible price. Pricing for this new region is currently the same as for the US East (Northern Virginia) region,” continued the statement.

Meanwhile, the cloud provider has other regions worldwide including those in the U.S., Ireland, and Asia.

In August, Amazon launched an additional AWS cloud service specifically made for government agencies. For more information on the latest news, visit the Amazon Web Services blog at http://aws.typepad.com/
