(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – It has been rumored for some time now that Amazon is in the development phase of making its own smartphone.
Earlier last week BGR posted some exclusive photos of the alleged device showing off some of its features, including its 3D capabilities.
According to the website, multiple sources say Amazon’s first ever smartphone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and run on a “heavily customized” version of Android.
The device will feature a 4.7 inch screen, 720 p HD resolution, and six cameras, one rear facing, one front facing, and four infrareds on the front of the phone that track the users face to make adjustments to the screen in real time.
In this device, Amazon is introducing gesture controls as a way to uniquely navigate apps.
Users will be able to tilt the device in different directions to reveal different apps and functions such as searching for restaurants in its map apps and cycling different images of products on Amazon.com.
BGR’s sources also say that there will not be “traditional” menu buttons, but instead will only be able to be accessed through the tilt function.
