(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple is trying to make it safer for users to look at their phones while walking by introducing its transparent text messages feature, reports PCAdvisor.
A new patent filed by Apple reveals that the devices camera will capture live feed and display it as the background within text messages so that users could walk and text simultaneously without having to worry about running into something.
“The camera can be a rear-facing camera on the device, so that the video images represent the views that the device’s user would see if the device’s display were transparent. The camera can continuously capture and present the video images as the background in the text messaging session, so that the device’s user continuously can be aware of the environment beyond the device’s display while still focusing on the text messages being communicated,” states the patent.
It is still unclear about if this new feature will be introduced on the iPhone 6 or on a future update to iOS 7. This concept is definitely worth waiting for seeing as how it could be very useful for many users.
