Apple Debuts Fourth Generation iPad & iPad Mini

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – While noting iPad’s progress, company CEO Tim Cook said “We’re not taking our foot of the gas” during the company’s big product unveiling on Tuesday.

The 4th generation iPad ($499) features an A6X chip, doubling the CPU and graphics performance. It also has a next-generation ISP processor and 10-hours of battery life.

Apple is supporting LTE with the new generation iPad. Wi-Fi is 2x faster, insisted Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Philip W. Schiller.

Also included in the product unveiling was the much anticipated iPad Mini. The device comes in black and white. “You can hold it in one hand,” commented Schiller.

The mini version of the tablet is 23% thinner. Apple called it “as thin as a pencil. The device also weights 68 lbs and is 53% lighter. Apple set the iPad Mini at $329.00 for the wi-fi edition. Customers can preorder the device beginning Friday.
