(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple is reportedly bringing health and fitness to their devices with its rumored healthcare app, Healthbook.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, the app, created to resemble Passbook, will be able to do everything from analyze heart rate to hydration levels to track sleeping cycles.
Several screenshots giving detailed information on the app was provided to 9to5Mac by “multiple sources working directly on the initiative’s development.”
These images show how information is broken down by categories such as blood work, heart rate, hydration, blood pressure, activity, nutrition, blood sugar, sleep, weight, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
Healthbook also comes equipped with an emergency card, a place that stores the user’s personal and medication information in order for doctors and hospitals to use in an emergency.
It is unclear on how the app will gather all this information, but 9to5 indicates that it believes Apple will use third-party devices or wearables to retrieve the data.
Apple is said to be testing the Healthbook software on iOS 8 with a possibility of the operating system and the Healthbook making its debut at the 2014 Worldwide Developers Conference.
