Apple Recalls iPhone 5 Models With Battery Issues

Apple Recalls iPhone 5 Models With Battery Issues (Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple is offering free battery replacement to iPhone 5 users who are experiencing short battery life through its Battery Replacement Program.

“Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently,” said the tech giant, adding that affected smartphones were purchased between September 2012 and January 2013.

In order to meet Apple’s requirements, users must submit their serial number in the checker on Apple’s support page. If your serial number is accepted, then you can bring your device to any Apple authorized service provider or retail store.

The tech giant added that if the device has any damage that “impairs the replacement of the battery,” such as a cracked screen, then it must be fixed before the battery can be replaced.
