(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple on Tuesday announced a considerable spec revamp of its iMac line, adding new fourth gen Intel Core i5 Haswell processors in addition to new graphics, next gen Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash.
The move arrives after the Cupertino tech giant officially launched its new iPhone 5C and 5S devices on Friday.
Three models are available including the new 21.5-inch iMac, a desktop computer featuring a 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and Iris Pro graphics.
Meanwhile, a higher end 21.5-inch iMac and 27-inch iMac both feature a quad-core Intel Core i5 processors, up to 3.5GHz and a NVIDIA GeForce 700 graphics card. Other upgrades are available as well.
“iMac continues to be the example that proves how beautiful, fast and fun a desktop computer can be,” commented Apple senior VP of Marketing Phil Schiller via a press release.
Apple’s original iMac made its debut back in 1998. Since then, the popular computer has undergone several drastic design revamps.
