(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple announced its final app store download numbers for 2013, revealing yet another successful year for the tech giant.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Cupertino company revealed over $10 billion was spent on the App Store in 2013, which included over $1 billion in the month of December alone.
December marks the most successful month in the App Store’s history with almost three billion app downloads.
“With the introduction of iOS 7, developers were able to create stunning apps that took advantage of the redesigned user interface and the more than 200 new features and APIs. Developers such as Evernote, Yahoo!, AirBnB, OpenTable, Tumblr, Pinterest and American Airlines re-imagined the user experience, bringing content to the forefront while increasing the overall efficiency and performance of their apps. ”
The App Store offers customers in 155 countries around the world more than one million apps to choose from in a range of 24 different categories.
