(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Last week news of Apple’s rumored $3.2 billion dollar purchase of Beats headphones quickly circulated, now a new rumor suggests that the two headphone executives will move to senior positions at Apple after the buyout.
According to AppleInsider, citing sources familiar with the acquisition, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are expected to take on executive roles at Apple, with the announcement being made at the upcoming WWDC conference next month.
The source continued to say that Iovine would leave his position as chairman at Interscope Geffen A&M for the chance to become a “special advisor” to CEO Tim Cook.
Last week a video was posted on actor Tyrese’s Facebook showing what appeared to be a celebration of the alleged Apple acquisition, followed by the caption,” How did I end up in the studio with Dr Dre ON THE night his deal went public that he did with Apple 3.2 BILLION!!!!! The BEATS HEADPHONES JUST CHANGED HIP HOP!!!!!!”
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference will take place in San Francisco, CA, on June 2-6.
