(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – For years, there have been rumors flying around that Apple would come out with the iTV, not to be confused with the streaming media player, Apple TV.
In 2012, CEO Tim Cook hinted about the release of “something bigger and better” than the current Apple TV, reports TechRadar.
“When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years. It’s an area of intense interest. I can’t say more than that,” stated Cook in an interview with NBC in December 2012.
Analysts in Japan predict that the company will ship 55-inch and 65-inch Ultra HD TVs in the fourth quarter of 2014, while The New York Times predict that Apple is waiting for the cost of large LCD panels to drop before building the iTV.
