(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – A long rumored Apple device may now be coming to fruition.
According to a report appearing on Bit from The New York Times, the Cupertino-based company is floating what the report says are “wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass.”
Details are vague but the device could delve into an area made popular by Nike’s FuelBand wristband – something that helps users track daily activity along with the calories in which they burn.
An Apple wristwatch could also rely on bendable glass, something developed as “Willow Glass” by Corning Glass Technologies.
“You can certainly make it wrap around a cylindrical object and that could be someone’s wrist,” commented Corner Glass Technologies CTO Pete Bocko in the Time’s report.
