(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Almost two months after Apple released the newest iPad Air, Apple enthusiasts are already speculating that the tech giant will release a bigger version of the tablet next year.
PCMag reports that the new rumored 12.2-inch iPad Pro, or iPad Air Plus, will be around 7-millimeters thick and sport Apple’s next A9 processor along with top and bottom speakers for better audio.
However, other rumors contradict this, with other reporting that the new tablet will be 12.9-inches and have the same A8 processor as the newly releases iPad Air 2.
The iPad Air Plus is speculated to be released spring 2015, though this is likely to change as Apple changes it focus to the smartwatch and other versions of the iPhone.
In October the Wall Street Journal reported that sources close to Apple claimed that the tech giant would postpone production of the larger 12.9-inch iPad due to attention for the high demand of the iPhone 6S.
“The top priority for the supply chain is to meet the overwhelming demand for the larger screen iPhones. The output of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus remains unsatisfactory,” said a supplier source. “It would be challenging for display makers to split resources and spend a few months to ramp up production for a new larger screen iPad now.”
Production for the tablet was supposed to start in December, though will reportedly be postponed until early next year.
