(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple on Friday confirmed to CNBC that it was launching its iPhone trade-in program today.
The initiative arrives just ahead of an expected next gen iPhone 5 announcement from the Cupertino-based tech giant.
According to a previous report from 9to5Mac, the trade-in program, officially called “Reuse and Recycle,” allows older gen iPhone owners to take their current devices to Apple Store locations, receive an estimate on their values, then trade them in to receive a discount on the next gen iPhone.
It’s widely anticipated that Apple will unveil an iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C (a more affordable variant) on September 10th at a press event in California.
