(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – The latest software update for streaming platform Apple TV is now available.
Version 5.2.1 features compatibility for second generation devices along with several bug fixes detailed in the company’s release notes.
“A state management issue existed in the handling of Mach-O executable files with overlapping segments. This issue was addressed by refusing to load an executable with overlapping segments,” comments Apple. The result? Users would have been able to execute unsigned code.
Other fixes, meanwhile, corrected an information disclosure issue along with something pertaining to arbitrary code.
Apple first launched its digital media receiver back in 2007.
