(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Tech giant Apple on Tuesday unveiled two highly anticipated iPhone devices including the 5C and 5S.
The first, the 5C, arrives in different colors, features hand-coated polycarbonate plastic, larger pixels, an A6 chip, live photo filters, an 8 megapixel camera, 3x video zoom and more.
Such colors include blue, green, white, yellow and red. The 16GB version carries a $99 price tag.
“The iPhone 5C is beautifully, unapologetically plastic,” commented Apple Senior VP of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune. “Multiple parts have been reduced to a single polycarbonate component whose surface is continuous.”
Meanwhile, Apple says its higher end 5C iPhone is one of the most “forward-thinking” phones anyone has made. It features an A7 64-bit chip, over 1 billion transistors, a touch ID sensor that reads your fingerprint, 56X better graphics performance (compared to the first gen) along with 40X more powerful CPU performance.
Confirming previously made rumors, the iPhone 5C does arrive with a champagne gold color option (back panel) while silver and black are also available.
Apple also provided more details regarding the latest version of its mobile OS, iOS 7, expected to launch as an update for current devices on September 18th.
