According to Apple, the new laptops now include Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors, boosting the device battery life and speed.
The new processor, along with OS X Mavericks, gives the 11-inch Air up to 9 hours of battery life and up to 12 hours on the 13-inch.
Apple has knocked $100 off of the MacBook Airs, now the 11-inch laptop with a 1.4 GHz processor and 4GB of memory is $899 while the 13-inch 256GB of flash storage is $1,199.
“With MacBook Air starting at $899, there’s no reason to settle for anything less than a Mac,” says Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller. “Macs have never been more popular, and today we’ve boosted the performance and lowered the price of MacBook Air so even more people can experience the perfect everyday notebook.”
The new models are now available at Apple’s retail stores and online through the Apple Online Store.
