(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Just three months ago Apple unveiled a game changer in the wearable market, the highly anticipated Apple Watch.
Described as the “most personal device ever,” the smart watch can be fully integrated with other Apple products such as the iPhone and its new HealthBook fitness app.
“With Apple Watch, we’ve developed multiple technologies and an entirely new user interface specifically for a device that’s designed to be worn. It blurs the boundary between physical object and user interface,” said Jony Ive, Apple’s senior vice president of Design. “We’ve created an entire range of products that enable unparalleled personalization.”
The device will come in three different collections, the Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport, and Apple Watch Edition.
Additionally, customers can choose from two different sizes, a 38 mm and 42 mm watch, as well as a range of watch straps and designs such as polished or space black stainless tell, space gay or silver anodized aluminum, and 18-karat rose or yellow gold.
A release date for Apple’s first wearable device has not yet been announced, though some believe it could launch on February 14, while others speculate the release for the second quarter of 2015, though Apple previously announced a “early 2015” launch.
The device will start at $349 and could go all the way up to $5,000 if the recent rumors surrounding the device are accurate.
Last week BGR reported that sources familiar with the matter claim that Apple’s chipmakers are reportedly gearing up to begin production of the device, estimating that around 30 to 40 million units will be sold in the first wave of orders.
