(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – New reports have surfaced surrounding Apple’s next flagship iPhone, stating that it will in fact feature new advanced screens.
According to MacRumors, citing the Economic Daily News, the iPhone 6 will come equipped with a sapphire display, though only the 5.5-inch model will feature the scratch resistant technology.
Previous rumors suggested that both models would use the sapphire crystal glass, however, the Taiwanese news site claims the “phablet” iPhone will be built “in limited quantities due to low sapphire yield, leading to a limited supply in 2014.” The 4.7-inch model will continue to use Gorilla Glass from Corning.
Additional features said to be included on the device are wireless charging, 3D graphics, NFC, a 4G antenna, and the new A8 processor.
The iPhone 6 is expected to be launched in the third quarter of the year, around September or October.
