Apple’s iOS 8 Beta Now Available for Testing To Developers

applePZ (2)(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple revealed yesterday during a WWDC keynote that its newest operating system, iOS 8, is now available to download for beta testing.

The iOS 8 beta is only available to developers in Apple’s iOS developer portal for compatible iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches, BGR reports.

Developers can find the OS through its build number, 12A4265u, where they are able to test their apps on the new software before it is released to the public this fall.

According to Apple, iOS 8 is the “biggest iOS release ever- for developers and everyone else.”

With iOS 8, users can track their health through the HealthKit app that includes an activity tracker and a heart rate monitor.

Additional features include interactive notifications, family sharing with up to six members, more storage in iCloud for photos and videos, more advanced features in spotlight, addition of quick type in the keyboard, and a Do Not Disturb mode in messages, among many other additions.

The iOS 8 beta is currently available from Apple’s Dev Center.
