(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple’s upcoming smartphone is said to feature a near field communication chip that will integrate a new mobile payment system into the device, according to a recent leak from French technology website Nowhere Else.
Leaked photos of the iPhone 6’s motherboard were posted to the website, revealing a new wireless networking system and the NFC chip, Mirror reports.
If these images are to be believed, the NFC chip would allow users to make payments directly from their phone without having to swipe a credit card or pay cash, a feature that is already present on Android devices through Google Wallet.
Additionally, the photos show an 802.11ac wireless networking chip that could allow for much faster Wi- Fi speeds, improving the overall performance of the device.
Apple’s iPhone 6 is rumored to come in two sizes, a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model, and expected to be released in September.
