Applied Innovations Supports Habitat for Humanity

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Applied Innovations supports Habitat for Humanity with January’s Giving Innovations corporate responsibility program.

Applied Innovations today announced the January Giving Innovations corporate responsibility campaign will be in support of Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County. This is the fourth campaign for Giving Innovations, a dedicated year-round effort designed to raise awareness and donations for charitable causes each month. AppliedI will donate 10% of all new sales made during January to the Habitat for Humanity, which is dedicated to providing simple, decent, affordable housing for low-income families by working in partnership with those families.

“We developed Giving Innovations as a forum for taking a proactive role in supporting national and regional non-profits,” said Jess Coburn, founder and CEO of Applied Innovations Corp. “Giving Innovations allows us to focus on a different program each month with a promotional campaign designed to increase awareness and raise critical funds for worthy causes.”

“The Habitat for Humanity program seemed a natural fit for our January Giving Innovations campaign,” said Cara Pluff, sales director at Applied Innovations. “What says ‘fresh start’ better than building a new home for some deserving family in our community?”

Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County is a unique organization in that 93% of every dollar donated goes toward building homes for families in the county. Part of the secret lies in the Habitat ReStore, located in Boca Raton, which generates enough revenue to cover nearly all administrative costs of the organization. The organization took root in the county in May of 1991, with the first Habitat Homeowners taking possession in October of 1991. Since then, nearly 100 homes have been built across the county, with three to four construction sites ongoing simultaneously.

“We are all really excited at Applied Innovations about contributing to this organization,” said Coburn. “We’re hoping our monetary commitment as a company will influence some of our team members and partners to make a personal commitment to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.”

AppliedI launched Giving Innovations in October 2010 with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and continued in November in support of Boca Helping Hands, a local food bank and assistance program. December benefited Toys for Tots, and Giving Innovations will continue with new campaigns throughout 2011. AppliedI has been collecting feedback from customers, partners and the community to nail down the roster for the rest of the year, with the complete campaign calendar being announced next month.
