(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Console and PC won’t be the only platforms to support Batman: Arkham Origins. According to a report from Gamespot on Saturday, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have confirmed a brawler version of the title as a free-to-play mobile game.
And while an exact release date for the mobile app is currently unknown (sometime this fall), the full console version of Arkham Origins will arrive on October 25th for platforms including the PS3, Xbox 360 PC and Wii U.
The mobile release is being developed by NetherRealm Studios.
In Gamespot’s report, NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boobn said the mobile version “goes hand-in-hand with what is offered on the other platforms.”
The brawler will let players assume the role of batman who will battle assassins. They’ll also be able to receive batsuit upgrades in addition to “in-game currency and rewards,” according to the report.
Arkham Origins’ processor, Arkham City, was launched back in 2011 and sold over four million units within its first week of availability.
