(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – At HostingCon 2014 this week, GlobalSign (booth # 531), a leading global Certificate Authority (CA) and a provider of identity services for commerce, communications, content and communities, will showcase innovative solutions that allow resellers to rapidly deploy SSL to secure their clients’ websites in response to the growing threat of breaches, intrusions and cyberattacks. GlobalSign will be demonstrating its CloudSSL solution, on-demand security that requires minimal IP usage and OneClickSSL, which automates the deployment of SSL certificates.
“GlobalSign’s CloudSSL & Server Name Indication solution will enable us to increase our SSL customer base by at least 55%,” said Munesh Singh, CEO and founder, ZNetLive. “Our priority will be to continue to educate our customers on the issues of online security and we are pleased to be able to facilitate access to the SSL technology for all of our hosted customers.”
SSL solutions from GlobalSign are used by more than 5,000 resellers worldwide and provide simplified and automated deployment, since they are tightly integrated with popular webhosting platforms, such as cPanel and Parallels. This automation was put to the test recently, as the Heartbleed bug necessitated millions of SSL certificates to be revoked and reissued — a process made simpler for resellers using GlobalSign’s OneClickSSL automation.
“Without GlobalSign’s OneClickSSL capabilities, I don’t know how long it would have taken us to replace all of our customers’ SSL certificates,” said Justin Dorfman, product manager at MaxCDN. “And the fact that GlobalSign kept us informed, helped us, and didn’t charge us for these reissues, really solidified my trusted relationship with them.”
HostingCon 2014 is the only industry event devoted exclusively to hosting and cloud solutions and puts the focus on the challenges specific to this community. GlobalSign will highlight best practices and products that remove the barriers to the rapid adoption of SSL security by leveraging:
- CloudSSL, GlobalSign’s innovative approach to enabling multiple certificates to run on a single IP address when combined with Server Name Indication (SNI) — with 100% compatibility. With more than six-fold growth in CloudSSL licenses since the solution’s debut — uptake driven by the hosting and cloud community — CloudSSL’s on-demand security is helping service providers deploy SSL faster, and free up IPv4 resources.
- OneClickSSL, a secret weapon in simplifying the SSL provisioning process and helping both partners and their customers deal with the unexpected with superior efficiency. OneClickSSL fully automates SSL issuance. OneClickSSL has been rapidly adopted by the partner community and this speaks to its ability to help our partners provide superior service to their customers with less demand on personnel and support resources.
“Automation and efficiency are key to any IT services firm, and we are honored to have earned the business of so many partners in helping them better serve their customers,”said Steve Waite, General Manager of the Americas at GlobalSign. “When we help our partners remove the barriers to mass adoption and usage of SSL security, everyone wins.”
