(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Google has finally revealed the pricing plans for its high-speed Internet service that will release in Austin, Texas, next month.
Residential areas in Austin will be able to choose from three different Fiber plans, with the first starting at $70 a month for Internet packages, says Google via blog post.
- Basic Internet- $0/ month for speeds up to 5Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speed, with a $300 construction fee.
- Gigabit Internet- $70/ month for speeds up to 1,000 Mpbs upload and download speeds and 1TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google + photos.
- Gigabit + TV- $130 month for up to 1,000 Mpbs upload and download speed, 150+ channels, and 1TB cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google + photos.
Google Fiber offers users faster Internet speed of 1 gigabit per second. It was first announced in 2013 that it would be arriving in Austin by mid-2014, though it was slightly delayed due to the complex underground drilling that is done for the more than 3,000 miles of underground cable.
Other cities that offer the service are Kansas City and Provo.
