AWS Expands with New DirectConnect Availability

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Dedicated network connection platform Direct Connect from Amazon Web Services is now available in new locations around Tokyo, Singapore, Ireland and California.

The company announced the move on Tuesday.

The platform allows data center administrators to connect to AWS services via private connections. AWS previously made DirectConnect available during the summer of 2011 in the company’s US East region (Virginia).

Benefits of DirectConnect as detailed by AWS include network cost reduction, increased privacy, and consistency. Meanwhile, the company is providing users with any easy way to sign up for the service.

Last month, Amazon Web Services launched a new cloud region in South America. AWS has provided popular cloud-based application services since its launch in 2002.
