(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Tech providers making use of cloud solutions available from Amazon Web Services now have a new way to distribute their products. On Thursday, Amazon announced the launch of AWS Marketplace, combining the company’s already used online retail vision with a variety of cloud offerings.
“AWS Marketplace makes it even easier to run software on AWS because you can find a wide variety of AWS ecosystem providers’ solutions, in one place, where much of the work involved in building and deploying solutions on top of AWS has already been done for you by these solutions providers,” commented AWS VP of New Business Initiatives Terry Hanold in press release regarding the matter.
Main categories of products (as listed on the site) include software infrastructure, developer tools and business software.
One click software deployment is available upon purchasing the site’s software solutions. Meanwhile, top companies that have their services available through the marketplace include Red Hat, IBM, Microsoft and McAfee.
The unveiling of the retail site follows another announcement made Tuesday in which the company rolled out its new partner network. That offering allows companies to receive one thousand in AWS services and premium support credits along with a listing in the company’s directory.
