(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – BackupAgent, the leading provider of cloud backup software for service providers, today announced availability of free backup services for developers who use the Linux – Apache – MySQL – PHP (LAMP) technology stack.
The free subscription comes with a 10 GB backup storage capacity plan and an indefinite subscription length. The offering is limited to 500 subscriptions and accounts are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
“We are one of the very few vendors who support MySQL and Linux in our online backup offering”, says Robbert van Geldrop, CTO of BackupAgent. “We know that LAMP developers are much empowered and will always make a build-or-buy decision that rarely favors a paid service. Still, due to the fact that we have the technology we want to seize this opportunity to start building a community of users in this space.”
BackupAgent enables the backup of MySQL databases on table level while they are actively in use. As a result data recovery can be performed fast and focused. BackupAgent can back up the MySQL database without interrupting business operations, even during the backup window (hot backup). For more information about this initiative, please visit:
