(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Mobile developer Blackberry has pinned its hopes on new flagship smartphone Blackberry Z10 and so far, the results may be paying off.
On Thursday, the company reported a quarter 4 revenue of $2.5 billion. The provider shipped out 6 million smartphones during the period; of those, 1 million were 10s.
“We have implemented numerous changes at BlackBerry over the past year and those changes have resulted in the Company returning to profitability in the fourth quarter,” emphasized Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins via a press release.
According to a report from the LA Times, sales of the Z10 have topped expectations.
In addition to the BlackBerry 10 sales, the company also noted it had 76 million subscribers. Blackberry previously initiated a company revamp, getting rid of its “RIM” name and simply going by Blackberry.
