Blizzard Introduces Clans and Communities In Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls

Blizzard Introduces Clans and Communities In Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls (Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Blizzard has unveiled two new social features for the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls.

The new features, clans and communities, are designed to provide players with the tools to easily find and communicate with other individuals who share the same passions and goals in the game.

According to Battle.net, clans are designed to “provide players who share similar interests, gameplay schedules, or goals the ability to band together and form tight-knit groups.”

As clans are intended to be a private group, only 120 members can be apart of each clan and players are only allowed to be apart of one clan at a time.

Although anyone can request to be a part of a clan, players are not officially members until they have been invited to join or their request has been accepted.

Communities are a little different, as they are about “fostering relationships between like-minded people, with a keen focus on socialization.”

This social group is far more casual and larger, almost an unlimited number of members can be apart of a community.

Additionally, players can be a part of as many different communities as they want at the same time.

Both social features are available for testing on the Patch 2.0.1 PTR and Reaper of Souls Closed Beta.
