(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Rumors of a PC release of Destiny have been floating around the web for some time now, with many claiming we could see a mid-2015 release of the game.
In a recent interview with Polygon, Activison CEO Erik Hirshberg stated that a PC version would be a “good fit,” BreatheCast reports.
“It is [a good fit], and it’s something we’re talking about and looking at very carefully, and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is,” stated Hirshberg.
He added that developing a PC version of a game is completely and they want to make sure they get it right if they do decide to develop Destiny on PC.
“We just want to make sure that we’re putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it’s of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit.”
Bungie’s lead designer, Lard Bakken, told Eurogamer that a PC versions would be very complicated, but it “doesn’t mean that it can’t happen in the future, it just means it won’t happen right now.”
“We’re doing it all internally ourselves. That’s a huge endeavor. So when I’m play testing and I’m trying to play PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, that’s a lot of work,” noted Bakken. “Adding another thing on there is just crazy. It’s crazy to think of right now.”
