C Programming, UNIX, and the Start of it All

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Just recently, computer scientist Dennis Ritchie passed away. Ritchie was  the developer behind C programming .

He also played an integral part in the creation of UNIX, the operating system that eventually served as the basis for creating software such as Mac OS X and Linux.

In 1998, Ritchie along with co-developer Ken Thompson received the U.S. National Medal of Technology for playing a highly important role in the advancement of computer technology.
