(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Call of Duty: Ghosts game publisher Activision on Monday detailed the Xbox Game Ahead Program – an initiative that lets gamers seamlessly upgrade to the next gen Xbox One version of the game after initially receiving the Xbox 360 version.
Through it, Activision notes that a digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will be made available through the Xbox Live Marketplace for $59.99 when the game hits on November 5th. When Xbox One officially lands on November 22nd, gamers will then be able to upgrade to a digital version of the Xbox One edition for the amount of $10.
Meanwhile, there is also another alternative. “Gamers can purchase a disc-less dual-license digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts at participating retailers for a suggested retail price of $69.99. This version will include the Xbox 360 digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts, as well as the Xbox One digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts – linked and unlocked via a user’s Xbox Live gamertag. Look for more information on how to pre-order at participating retailers in the coming weeks,” stated Activision in a blog post.

As a first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Ghosts takes place in the near future in a scenario where the U.S. is no longer a superpower and is invaded by an outside threat. Remnants of the military then band together to form the “Ghosts” unit to fight back.
