(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Canadian Web Hosting announced today that it has been running a trial version of Enkompass, by cPanel, since July 15th, and is now making the Windows-based hosting control panel available to its Web hosting customers. In development for more than a year, Enkompass is built to run on Microsoft Windows Server® 2008 or 2008 R2, and represents the latest addition to Canadian Web Hosting’s growing suite of web hosting services focused on Windows and further complements their automation solutions that give Canadian Web hosting’s customers’ additional flexibility and control over their websites and how their businesses operate online.
Kevin Liang, Canadian Web Hosting’s Chief Technology Officer stated, “We’ve been pleased with the performance and features of Enkompass, and we’re anxious to move forward and grow our Windows hosting business.” And added, “Because the Enkompass interface is similar to cPanel/WHM, which our customers are already familiar with, there will be little or no training time required. That’s gives our customers a tremendous value and helps us maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.”
“Microsoft has shown a strong commitment to the hosting industry over the past several years,” said cPanel CEO J. Nick Koston. “Our Windows development team feels that Microsoft IIS7 offers a robust, high-performance web server, with increased security that the industry will quickly adopt. Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and IIS7, with its modern architecture and support for legacy products, was the natural starting point for our expanded product offering.”
