(Ping! Zine) – Amid an ongoing high-profile legal dispute, top executives from both Apple and Samsung were set to meet today in San Francisco to discuss how their conflicts could be resolved, according to a report from Reuters.
The get together comes as the companies prepare for a trial next month involving a number of patent issues related to smartphones and tablets. Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Choi Geen-sung were ordered to discuss the dispute by a judge at the federal court level.
Apple has vigorously pursued action against Samsung for using technology it claims too closely resembles its products. Meanwhile, Samsung has not hesitated to fight back, most recently filing suit against the popular iPhone maker last month.
The report from Reuters also noted that the battle spans ten different countries. Despite talks that could lead to a new settlement, the drama hasn’t calmed down. A new report from the Mac Observer (macobserver.com) indicated that Apple was moving for a ban of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 within the United States.
