(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – A sickness from over usage of mobile technology? Does such a thing even exist? If so, it’s reportedly not recognized by scientists.
The condition is known as electromagnetic hypersensitivity, aka “EHS.”
A report from health writer Lisa Collier Cool appearing on Yahoo! recently highlighted the town of Green Bank, West Virginia – a place most of us wouldn’t want to be. Why? There, Wi-Fi doesn’t exist; nor do radio and TV broadcasts.
So what’s up with the ban? No Wi-Fi is enforced due to the operation of a local radio telescope. The area is otherwise known as the “US National Radio Quiet Zone.”
The place is, however, proving a refuge for those claiming to suffer from the curious illness known as EHS. According to some sufferers, symptoms of the disease include headaches, prickling, fatigue, stress, problems sleeping and more (sounds pretty broad, right?)
