(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Today, cloud infrastructure provider GoGrid revealed that it had opened an Equinix managed data center presence in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Joining Equinix’s International Business Exchange data center represents the company’s first move outside the United States. The facility itself includes features such as distributed power redundancy, premium network connectivity and HVAC cooling.
Aside the from the data center facility, GoGrid has also opened a company headquarters in the area. “Ringing in 2012 with the launch of our EMEA Headquarters is a terrific way to start the new year,” stated GoGrid CEO Warren Heffelfinger when discussing the matter in a press release.
Heffelfinger also said that “customer momentum” by his company means that GoGrid is “well-positioned to gain traction as the cloud computing market accelerates.”
Listed among GoGrid’s cloud offerings are dedicated servers, load balancing, along with cloud servers and storage.
The company forms a data center presence at other facilities in the United States including locations in San Francisco, California and Ashburn, Virginia.
Meanwhile, GoGrid chief marketing officer Jeffrey Samuels made a point to note how important business outside the U.S. is to the cloud infrastructure company. “International markets are currently driving more than 40% of GoGrid’s business,” Samuels stated.
