(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – On March 11th and 12th, Cloud providers and users from around the world gathered at the ExCel London in London Docklands for two packed days of the newest innovations, trends and business solutions within the industry.
Lifting the lid on Cloud industry trends, over 300 speakers and exhibitors filled the 11 conference rooms and main hall with plenty of discussions about advances in Cloud technology and related business issues. Exhibiting their new 1&1 Cloud Server available to the European market, 1&1 Internet was named Theatre Sponsor.
The event lived up to the promise of being the biggest and best attended Cloud event of the year. Attendees included thousands of IT Professionals from across Europe and various sectors including enterprise, public sector, SMBs and service providers. With new Cloud services and market trends high on the agenda, addressed issues included:
- Infrastructure and storage
- Cloud management
- Cloud innovations
- The role of the Internet of Things
Expert speakers from the public and private sector both as suppliers and consumers of Cloud technology, including 1&1’s Head of Product Management Cloud, Javier Salcedo, held various seminars throughout the days uncovering their insights to Cloud.
Taking a detailed look at whether Cloud has now delivered all of its promises to SMBs, 1&1’s Javier shared his vast experience from working at 1&1 and sister company, Arsys in Spain. His presentation had a packed audience in the Cloud Management, Services and Applications Theatre on Thursday, March 12th.
Opening with an overview of the current market and synopsis of Cloud promises and fulfilments, Salcedo differentiated between the two main groups of Cloud suppliers – Simple Clouds and Mega Clouds. Exploring what SMBs can expect from Cloud solutions in 2015, his keynote led to the final question, are you getting the most from your current Cloud offering, and do you have the Cloud of your dreams? Finishing with an overview of the new 1&1 Cloud solution, his presentation was well-received by those in the audience.
