(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – A wide range of cloud solutions were unveiled by IT provider Dimension Data on Thursday. Primarily pertaining to public, private and hybrid clouds, the services include managed hosting, advanced cloud services and a variety of CaaS (Compute-as-aService) offerings.
Dimension Data, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, said the solutions “enable companies to be more agile, lower IT infrastructure management expenses and reduce cloud migration complexity and risk.”
In a press release, CEO Steve Nola of Dimension Data’s Cloud Solutions Business United discussed the matter, stating, “Our clients realise the transformational potential of cloud computing, whether it’s moving into new markets, launching new products, or improving IT efficiency.”
Nola also talked about the complexity involved in cloud migration, noting that Dimension Data’s solutions were “designed to help clients reduce cost, move faster and manage risk effectively.”
The launch of Dimension Data’s cloud offerings follows an announcement earlier this month in which the company revealed that it had acquired Xigo, a telecommunication expense management provider.
Dimension Data launched in 1983 and today accounts for more than 14 thousand employees, according to the IT provider’s website. Last year’s revenue at the company totaled $5.8 billion dollars. For more information on Dimension Data, visit: http://www.dimensiondata.com/
