Cloud SQL Tool and Better Metadata Cache Management in Skyvia 3.5

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Devart, Czech software vendor, presented new version of their cloud service for data integration management and backup Skyvia. Now it has a new online tool for SQL quering and improved management of cloud metadata cache.

Devart introduced the new 3.5 version of Skyvia – an online service for cloud data integration, backup and management. The new Skyvia version offers a cloud SQL client for cloud and relational data sources, and improved control of cloud source metadata cache.

Online SQL Tool

Skyvia Query allows using SQL for quering and managing cloud and relational data directly from a web browser. It allows querying data with SELECT statements and viewing query results in the browser or exporting them to CSV files, working with several queries on the same page simultaneously and performing DML statements against both cloud and relational data.

Skyvia offers full support for SQL-92 syntax for cloud sources, makes possible performing complex queries with aggregations, SQL functions, etc.

against the cloud sources and getting the needed data, presented in the most informative way. Full DML support makes Skyvia a perfect tool for mass cloud data updates, and it takes care about protecting the data from user errors with preview of all the changes before actually applying them.

For databases Skyvia fully supports all the SQL they support including DDL statements if necessary, and provides an ability to access and manage the data anytime and from anywhere.

Better Cloud Metadata Cache Management

By default Skyvia caches metadata from your cloud connections and works with this cache afterwards. If a cloud object structure changed since that, this change may be ignored until the cache is refreshed.

Skyvia 3.5 offers more options for control over metadata cache refreshing and allows per-object manual cache refresh. First, user can configure the interval between refreshing a cache for a cloud connection in the connection editor and clear the connection cache on the connection details page.

Second, while editing an integration package, user can refresh metadata for a cloud object in the task editor of the task that uses this object.
