(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – File a lawsuit and you could find yourself having the rights to a heck of a lot domain names. That was the situation handbag maker Coach found itself in.
According to a report from Fox Business, the company received 573 domains after defendants were found to be in violation of counterfeit laws.
Interestingly enough, all domains that had been used illegally included the term “coach.”
Meanwhile, those weren’t the only thing the company got. Most importantly, the court rewarded Coach $257 million.
Coach initially started going after online counterfeiters back in 2009 through an initiative called “Operation Turnlock.” Handbags have been a common target of online scammers.
