Comodo’s Robert Schaffer Named CRN Channel Chief

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Comodo (http://www.comodo.com) a leading certificate authority and Internet security organization, today announced that Robert Schaffer, Comodo managing director of global channels, has been named a Channel Chief for the second consecutive year by Everything Channel’s CRN. Channel Chiefs are leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers. They consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.

Schaffer has been chosen as a 2010 Channel Chief for his leadership of Comodo’s global go-to-market strategy for the company’s solution providers and distribution partners, including overseeing several new programs such as Comodo Partner Secure Program which have increased VAR enablement, service delivery, and partner profitability. Schaffer launched significant enhancements to the Partner Secure Program, designed to help resellers differentiate their business, provide more value to customers, and supply opportunities to increase overall profitability. Another critical 2010 achievement was Comodo’s increase in the number of active selling partners contributing revenue to Comodo, with year-over-year incremental revenue produced by the partner community increasing more than 30 percent.

This year’s Channel Chiefs were chosen by the Everything Channel editorial staff based on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue generated through partners, willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years dedicated to channel activities.

“I’m honored to be named a CRN Channel Chief for 2010,” said Robert Schaffer. “Comodo is dedicated to the success of our partner community and we’ll continue to invest and enhance our program based upon the feedback we receive from our partners. In 2010 we enhanced the partner program by making it easier to join and gain access to Comodo’s product portfolio of security products and solutions, delivered time-efficient training, and created new specialty designations that increase partners’ opportunities to deliver more value-added services.”

“Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry. This year’s Channel Chiefs offer tremendous insight into the who’s who of the Channel,” said Kelley Damore, vice president, editorial director, Everything Channel. “Top channel executives consistently ensure that the Channel’s voice is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture mutually profitable relationships. We applaud this year’s Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies.”
