(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Dedicated network connections can now be established more easily for colocation customers of data center provider CoreSite. On Wednesday, the company announced that availability of Amazon service Direct Connect at its New York data center.
Making the announcement in a press release, CoreSite cited growing demand for Amazon’s popular cloud service. “CoreSite is pleased to be the first data center provider in the New York metro region to provide direct, on-site access to one of the world’s largest cloud offerings in Amazon Web Services,” commented CoreSite COO Jarrett Appleby when discussing the matter.
While the availability of the service is new to the New York region, it’s familiar territory for the colocation provider. The company previously implemented the Direct Connect service at its Los Angeles, California facility late last year.
The addition of the platform allows CoreSite clients to take advantage of secure connections to access even more Amazon-based cloud services.
CoreSite has a variety of data centers locations throughout the United States in other cities including Boston, Chicago, Denver and Miami. In late June, the company made news by launching an Internet Exchange Hub thanks to a relationship with TELEHOUSE America.
