(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Popular remote desktop access provider LogMeIn unveiled the beta version of its ‘Cubby’ cloud solution on Thursday.
The platform provides users with a way to sync and share data across a variety of systems including computers and mobile devices. “When it comes to sharing data in the cloud today, most solutions on the market are ultra simple but inflexible, or highly flexible but inherently complex,” explained LogMeIn CTO Marton Anka in a press release regarding the matter.
Anka said his company saw the solution as an “opportunity to deliver an ideal balance of simplicity and flexibility.”
Among the service’s features are allowing users to use preexisting folders for cloud storage, access through web browsers and apps, encryption standards and more.
Meanwhile, the solution makes use of the company’s Gravity Data Services, a system the company emphasized provides “secure, high-scale data sync and storage capabilities at incredibly low cost.”
Cubby is currently available for free and currently features 5GB of cloud space for users. Those interested in participating in the platform’s beta release may sign up via cubby.com. LogMeIn’s remote access control solutions are among the industry’s most popular. In March, the company announced a Macintosh version of its LogMeIn Pro solution that allows HD streaming to a number of devices.
