CyberCaliphate Takes Credit for Newsweek Twitter Hack

hacker(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – For a brief moment in time, CyberCaliphate tried to get its 15 minutes of fame but fell short by 1 minute.  According to a statement by Newsweek, its Twitter account was hijacked for a total of 14 minutes, following tweets such as “#CyberCaliphate, Bloody Valentine’s Day #MichelleObama! We’re watching you, you girls and your husband!”

Needless to say, if our editors allowed such grammar as “you girls”, we would have been bashed to no end.  I guess that’s why this group claiming to support ISIS is staying anonymous. The FBI is hot on the case and White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest issued the harsh statement “I don’t have any response to the claims that are made by these hackers.” You tell them Josh, it is statements like this that help push a Cybersecurity Bill through Congress quickly.

This group has also claimed to have hacked @Centcom, US Central Command, and Taylor Swift’s official Twitter account. You can give them minutes added for hacking the US Central Command to give them their 15 minutes of fame but hacking Tayler Swift’s account is just asking for a heartbreaking love song written about you and that is what will really carry you into stardom.
