(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Power surges are no fun, especially if you’re Washington State’s government. According to a report by the Associated Press, one recently hit the state’s data center, bringing down power at the facility.
The problem apparently occurred as work commenced on a new power line.
And it’s not as easy as simply turning back on the power. It comes with a hefty price. It appears the fix will require a new switch pertaining to the electrical vault. The AP report also noted that the Department of General Administration placed the price for a new switch around $130 thousand dollars.
Meanwhile, officials believe that the overall price could total somewhere around $500 thousand dollars.
Despite the matter, over the years, that data center has proven reliable. According to the AP report, it’s the first time in twenty years that the facility has not been active. For more information, visit: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2016126740_shutdown07m.html
