IT services are also expected to rise by 5.2% – $927 billion in spending. The reason for the increase? Higher values with foreign currencies compared to the U.S. dollar.
Gartner managing VP Richard Gordon noted the overall outlook had remained gloomy, but receding pessimism for the market was helping boost and accelerate spending.
Investment, meanwhile, is also expected to increase in other areas including devices, telecom and enterprise software.
