Data Center Systems Could Grow by 4.5% in 2013

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Research firm Gartner revealed its latest annual IT spending forecast on Thursday, projecting that $3.7 trillion would be spent in the sector this year.

Among a few observations, the company also said data center systems would expand by 4.5% compared to last year, totaling $147 billion.

IT services are also expected to rise by 5.2% – $927 billion in spending. The reason for the increase? Higher values with foreign currencies compared to the U.S. dollar.

Gartner managing VP Richard Gordon noted the overall outlook had remained gloomy, but receding pessimism for the market was helping boost and accelerate spending.

Investment, meanwhile, is also expected to increase in other areas including devices, telecom and enterprise software.
