DDoS Attack Drops China’s .CN Domains

DDoS Attack Drops China’s .CN Domains(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – China’s .CN domains recently faced a massive DDoS attack, something the country called “the biggest ever,” according to a report from the BBC on Tuesday.

The incident supposedly began at 2:00 local time. By 4:00, it had “intensified,” China’s Internet Network Information Center noted.

The country has yet to make any claims as to who may have been responsible.

DDoS attacks commonly redirect a network of infected computers to visit  a target’s website, thus overwhelming servers, often causing slow service and/or downtime.

China has been accused a number of times for being the source of hack attacks itself. Earlier this year, the New York Times noted a source in the country had hacked its system for a period spanning four months.
